It’s no wonder Zion National Park is visited by about 4.5 million people each year. So what will your trip actually be like? If you ignore the Instagram crowd that only seems to do 2 hikes (The Narrows and Angels Landing), you can spend 4-5 days exploring this amazing national park.
In addition to the traditional trails most people are familiar with, like The Narrows, take in some trails like the 5-mile hike to the Lookout and Scout Lookout at Angel’s Landing. They are popular with tourists and very difficult.

If we are planning a trip, we would prefer kayaking or rowing. Being from the south, we do almost anything to avoid the summer humidity. As you paddle through the water, the views of the sparkling emerald waters are incomparable.

Summer is great in Portland. When we lived here, the weather was oppressive, but when summer came, it was so amazing that you forgot all the other months. We experienced two good months in the year: July and August. August has the lowest average rainfall and residents come out to enjoy the sun and spend time outdoors.
