Dogs should be kept on a lead while the path runs parallel to a steep mountain. This beach is extremely busy in the summer, so it’s best to keep this in mind if your dog gets easily irritated.

Lulworth Cove is about half an hour’s walk from Durdle Door. This horseshoe-shaped beach is geographically attractive and popular with families due to its many facilities. Like the nearby beaches, dogs are welcome all year round. The secluded waters are great for swimming and splashing in the waves.
Lulworth is generally a shingle beach. There are many lagoons along the coast at the west end that open at low tide. There are great dog walks to enjoy after the beach. You can follow the public road to the Fossil Forest and Muppe Bay, or continue on the South West Road.
Ringsted Bay is a shingle beach, popular with local families. It’s a little hidden away and can be accessed by a single interesting road that leads to a small car park with a shop and snack hut. This quiet beach is dog friendly all year round and has fun walks that can be included in your visit. One of our favorites takes you to Osmington Mills where you can stop for a well-deserved meal and drink at Smugglers Pub.
