The checklist will allow you to tick items off before you go on holiday in Pembrokeshire and when you’re ready to pack up and go home. If you’re looking for advice before booking pet-friendly accommodation, we’ve included some tips to help you find a holiday in Pembrokeshire. Depending on how much your little companion likes living in the car, you may want to consider somewhere closer to the places you’ll be visiting often. This will mean less time spent on the move, benefiting from less stress and fewer restrictions. Another thing to consider is your sleep schedule. If your child is having trouble settling down, it may be worth sharing the bed with you. While this may seem overwhelming, every convenience you have in your back pocket will help make this vacation go as smoothly as possible!

Be careful in hot weather. To clarify a few things, you should not leave dogs in hot cars, sheds or outbuildings on a hot day. Even if it’s just for a while! As you can imagine, even when it’s only 22°C outside, temperatures can quickly rise to almost 50°C in some of these areas. This can be fatal for your pet. It is also recommended that you use a pet-safe sunscreen on your pet’s exposed skin. Like the tips of their ears and noses (to avoid sunburn). If you are unsure about the right product to use, we strongly recommend that you ask your doctor. While traveling, we recommend having fresh drinking water and a container ready to hydrate and cool them. And finally, don’t take your dog outside when the ground is hot!

Pembrokeshire is a great place to visit during the holidays. There are also plenty of places to enjoy the outdoors without having to fight the crowds, which is great for pets. Some dogs don’t mind people, but if yours is nervous or shy, the last place you want to be is somewhere too busy! For pet owners, this can often mean choosing accommodation in the most remote parts of Pembrokeshire. The advantage of this plan is that you can go all year round. Or, alternatively, you could choose to go on a pet-friendly holiday in Pembrokeshire that requires little time. This should mean you meet fewer people, which makes it a little easier for more nervous dogs who don’t like people. The upside to this idea is that it’s often cheaper to get out ahead of time!
