Île D’orléans In One Day Itinerary
We traveled with my parents and their old dog, Lupo, a 10 year old Coton de Tulear. It’s important to choose the best hotel for all of us and our dogs.
We stayed at the Hotel Port Royal in Old Quebec, near the Port of Quebec. I didn’t use my car much during my five day stay, but the location was great.
The daily pet fee is $25 per day (which was surprising considering they didn’t close the room during my stay due to COVID-19). However, you will probably pay pet fees during your trip, so plan a little in advance.
I love that the room has a kitchenette with a coffee maker, stove, and toaster. We brought our own breakfast and lunch, which was convenient, but especially so being able to store Henry’s food in the fridge and freezer.
Québec City Vacation Rentals From C$ 65/night
Since we were on the first floor, we had our own patio where we and our dog could sit outside without anyone. This is a great place to have breakfast and have fun together.
The next restaurant, Louise Taverne & Bar à Vin, is very nice and allows dogs on the terrace (as long as they don’t make noise).
In fact, there are many dog-friendly hotels. By law, dogs are not actually allowed in hotels, but the terraces are usually dog friendly, but you should always ask as we were asked in one place.
Since we were traveling with Lupo, our 10 year old Coton de Tulear, we planned our day around finding the best places to walk. Needless to say, it was hot all week!
Where To Take Your Dog In Canada
We spent our days exploring new roads and places, and the few hours around dinner our dogs spent time with Linda, a lovely pet we met and Rover who took good care of our pup. This is especially helpful for those of us who can’t leave our dogs alone in a hotel room.
Basic progress plan. We have all our dinners ready before we go out, so we know what kind of schedule we can give our pet sitter. This saves a lot of time waiting at the hotel, and you will no longer have to struggle to find a hotel.
We highly recommend planning ahead when traveling with your dog. Adopting a dog comes with other responsibilities and you need to make sure that you are the owner of a well-behaved dog.

If you’re looking for a fun walk with your dog while in Quebec, check out Montmorency Falls Park. With a height of 83 meters, this historic waterfall is one of the popular tourist destinations in this area.
At that time, you will pass a suspension bridge. Now I’m afraid of bridges and can’t cross them, especially with Henry (of course he’s not afraid). But my parents said it was okay.
It’s a place I love to live. To get there, we drove a car which gave us a beautiful view of not only the falls, but also St. Mary’s. Louis. Lawrence, Île d’Orléans, and Quebec City.
