If you fancy a dog-friendly day out with historical sights, we recommend a visit to Pickering Castle. It has been used for centuries as a royal hunting lodge, holiday home and stable for a number of medieval kings, and is a must-see in the local area. Why not visit the Eden Camp History Museum? Located in the buildings and grounds of a Second World War prisoner of war camp, a visit to this unique museum takes you back to wartime Britain.

Cliff House Holiday Cottages

We are also well placed on the Yorkshire coast for a few days. In just 30 minutes you can drive to popular coastal towns such as Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, Philly and Scarborough for fresh air and beach walks! And did you know that? The file is named in the top 6 beaches in the world for families because it is the cutest beach in the world for families! A sculpture path surrounds the bay and there are many interesting rock pools.

animals? Entertaining the little ones is easy at Flamingo Land Resort; a popular family park with an extensive zoo and hundreds of attractions. And when it’s time to calm everyone down, we recommend a visit to Wolds Way Lavender.  A walk through the fields of this unique lavender farm with its distillery, tea house, shop and miniature railway is a pleasure!

Eat, drink and be merry at the area’s fantastic dog-friendly eateries (unless you’re making the most of the well-equipped kitchen at High Oaks Grange, that is!).
