Action Programs for Animals (APA) will host a low-cost microchipping and vaccination clinic on Saturday, July 22 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the APA Adoption Center, 537 N. Solano Drive in Las Cruces.
Should Your Dog Get The Lepto Vaccine?
These services are provided for $15 each: Rabies vaccine: one-year dose, three-year dose when appropriate; microchip; Bordetella vaccine.
These services will be provided free of charge thanks to Petco Love’s national vaccination initiative: DAPP (distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza and parvo); and FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia) vaccine.
“Thanks to Petco Love, APA can continue to provide free vaccinations to pet owners in our community,” said APA Executive Director Michelle Meunier. “Also, our bi-monthly, low-cost clinics are the only facilities to offer a three-year rabies vaccination to eligible animals, which sets us apart from other facilities.”
APA can only serve well-behaved dogs on leashes and in cat carriers, the release said. Anyone bringing their pet to the clinic must line up in a car outside the clinic, APA said. Everyone is called into the building when it’s their turn. APA accepts cash or credit cards.

Since May 2012, APA has rescued more than 5,800 animals. Most of them are dogs and cats/kittens from local shelters. APA can do this through volunteer work through rescue/foster coordinators, foster families and donations.
