What You Need To Know Before Bringing Your Dog To Yosemite National Park
If you bring your dog to the park, remember that he must be on a leash when you go for a walk with him. The arm itself cannot be longer than 6 feet. The general rule on which paths can be used is the most restrictive. It includes notable trails such as the main trail through the Tuolumne Giant Sequoia Grove, the short hike to the base of Bridalveil Falls, and the lower loop of Yosemite Falls.
Of course, there are exceptions to the basic rule. The Vernal Fall route is located in this section; so we recommend checking the NPS pet page for a complete list of all the rules you must follow within its boundaries. This means dogs are not allowed in undeveloped or wilderness areas, including dirt roads. Trails to and through the Mariposa Giant Sequoia Grove (eg: Washburn Road, Mariposa Grove Road, and Bypass, etc.) are located in the “No Dogs Allowed” section.
