Best Pet Friendly Resorts In Washington State – Something about January makes me want to sit down and look at the calendar and plan a bunch of trips for next year. It’s cold and dark outside and it’s incredibly satisfying to curl up with your laptop and plan some adventures.

Although we’ve put major international travel on hold during the pandemic, we’ve loved exploring the Seattle area and all of its wonderful (and dog-friendly!) weekend getaways. After a decade in New York and Chicago, it’s fun to come back and rediscover old favorites and check out the amazing new glamping sites, boutique hotels, and Airbnbs featured here. Most importantly, I’m glad to see that many of them accept dog-friendly lodging options. I was so happy when we could take Dave and Lizzie on holiday with us.

Some Of The Best Dog Friendly Accommodation Down South

We’ve blogged about how much we love Gateway Tiny Houses in the past, and we’ve also set our sights on a new location in the Skagit Valley. They are a great way to escape to nature while staying warm and dry. How incredible is that iconic bed window? Dogs allowed (fees apply) – details here.

Honestly, these oceanfront fire pits in Cohoe Beach stole my heart. Although the Oregon Coast Lodge is only a short drive from Seattle, its beautiful modern interior and sweeping views of the Pacific make it worth it. Dogs under 25 pounds are welcome in some rooms – more details here.

My New Year’s resolution is to book a stay at the St Edward’s Dream Inn as soon as possible, which should be easy as it’s only half an hour outside the city. This historic seminary has been restored to a luxurious and elegant resort located on 326 acres of trails on the shores of Lake Washington. Plus, relax at Cedar + Elm’s spa after a day of exploring or sampling Pacific Northwest cuisine. Dog details here.

We had a great weekend at The Lodges on Vashon in January 2020 and blogged about it, and those memories carried me through the early months of lockdown. These design-forward 570-square-foot units offer amenities such as private patios, fireplaces, and soaking tubs. They are also a great base for Vashon Island’s beautiful beaches and hiking. Dick’s Last Resort On The River

I had long dreamed of being one of those famous A-frames and this year I was determined to make it happen. TAEY RIVER COTTAGE LIMITED Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest offers three wonderful A-frame cabins, all of which are pet-friendly (for a fee). However, word to the wise: booking a room can be difficult as each of their awesome Insta posts gets thousands of likes. Pet information is listed below each cabin description.

We had a great Semiahmoon Easter weekend in 2019 and I can’t wait to go back to the beautiful places and remote beaches that Lizzie explores. Just a stone’s throw from the Canadian border, this cozy getaway is the perfect base camp for hiking and enjoying the stunningly beautiful scenery of the northern Washington coast. They are very dog โ€‹โ€‹friendly and dogs are welcome to use their bowls, beds and (at least on our visit) some souvenir bushes. Dog details here.

Step back in time in these vintage trailers in Dayton, Oregon. The best part? They are in Willamette Wine Country. The trailers come with pour-over coffee, luxurious linens and beautiful bathrooms. Shasta Trailers is puppy friendly and has more details here.

Anacortes is one of our favorite downtown excursions. An hour and a half’s drive north of Seattle, this quaint beach town is filled with quaint shops, delicious cafes, and water features. (Watermark Bookstore is one of my favorite bookstores in Washington!) We love the Majestic, the city’s flagship hotel, for its cozy rooms and amazing rooftop bar. Their detailed dog policy is here.

I love a unique vacation, and Winthrop’s Rolling Cabin certainly fits the bill. These tiny houses were designed by Seattle-based Olson Kundig Architects as a modern alternative to camping. Go for a hike or just relax and soak in these amazing mountain views. Their Hotels.com listing lists their pet policy under the “Fees and Policies” section.

This luxury Hood Canal resort has been welcoming puppies since 1913 and offers a full range of dog-friendly amenities, and we can believe it. Rent a kayak, go hiking or just enjoy the scenery and make memories. Read the dog dates here.

Well, technically it’s not available yet, but we’ve signed up to be notified to get a reservation when these beautiful RVs launch in Olympic National Park. They offer creature comforts beyond the average camper while offering a secluded and sustainable way to get into nature. I’m obsessed with the gorgeous new waterfront suite at this historic Orcas Island inn with a private balcony overlooking the bay. I can already picture myself curled up there with a book. If you follow us on Instagram, you know we make a quick trip to Seabrook every chance we get. This picturesque beach town on Washington’s stunning Pacific coast is everything I look for in a vacation: it’s a charming town with nice shops and restaurants, plenty of rental options, and a pristine beach. Many rentals welcome puppies.

With beautiful views of Lake Washington and just a short drive from downtown Seattle, The Woodmark is a wonderful getaway. If you haven’t heard of Tentrr, you’re missing out. We’ve been with them twice (on trips to Vermont and Maine, which we blogged about here), and each trip has been great. Basically, they set up luxury safari tents on exceptionally private land, like this beautiful fruit farm near Mead, Washington. True, Idaho is a drive from Seattle, but we won’t go far to enjoy this airy landscape. Also, the little touches like the on-site sauna and antique coffee mill made my heart melt. Pets are allowed, but given the stairwell entrance, you may want to evaluate whether this will be a fun vacation for you.
