Best Dog Friendly Vacations – When January rolls around, I want to sit down, look at the calendar and make travel plans for the next year. It is very cold and dark outside. Sitting down at your laptop and planning your adventures is incredibly satisfying.

This is despite major international travel being suspended during the pandemic. But we still enjoyed exploring the Seattle area and its wonderful weekend getaways. (And it’s dog-friendly!) It’s been so fun to come back after 10 years in New York and Chicago, rediscovering old vacation favorites and seeing all the innovative accommodations, boutique hotels, and unique Airbnbs happening here. And best of all, you’ll be happy to know that there are many accommodations that offer dog-friendly options for your stay. I was even happier to be able to take Dave and Lizzie on vacation with me.

Captain Whidbey is at the top of my ‘vacation list’ for 2022. Recently featured in publications like Vogue, this beautifully restored historic hotel has been popping up all over my Instagram feed and I can’t wait to check it out. Check the reservation system to see which cabins (like the Filson Cabin!) are marked as pet-friendly.

Walla Walla is one of America’s premier wine regions with over 120 wineries, so it’s truly mind-boggling. Where better to spend a few days? This modern city center hotel has been bookmarked for some time. Because it looks like the perfect base camp for a snowy weekend, a wine weekend, or both! Traveling With Your Pet

We’ve blogged about how much we love Getaway Tiny Homes in the past. And we’re looking for a new Skagit Valley location. It’s the perfect way to escape to nature while staying warm and dry. And how amazing is this unique bedside window? Dogs are allowed for a fee. See here for more information.

Coho Oceanfront really stole my heart with its waterfront fire pit. Although this Oregon Coast lodge is only a short drive from Seattle. But the beautiful, modern interior and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean make it worth the drive. Some rooms allow dogs up to 25 pounds. See here for more information.

I wanted to move to my dream lodge in St. Petersburg as soon as possible. I made a New Year’s resolution to book Edward. It should be easy since it’s only a 30-minute drive from the city. This historic landmark seminary has been renovated into an exquisite, luxurious retreat on 326 acres located directly on Lake Washington. After a day of sightseeing, visit the spa or relax with Pacific Northwest cuisine at Cedar + Elm. Here are the dogs.

We had a great weekend at The Lodges on Vashon in January. I blogged here in 2020 and memories guided me through the first few months of the lockdown. This 570 square foot designer room features amenities such as a private balcony, fireplace, and soaking tub. Top Pet-friendly Vacation Destinations For This Fall

I have dreamed of being a part of the Instagram famous A-Frame for so long. And I am determined to make it happen this year. Tye River Cabin Co. has three different beautiful A-frame cabins in Mt. in the heart of Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. And all three homes accept pets for a fee. Booking accommodation can be tricky, to put it mildly. Because all their amazing Instagram posts get thousands of likes. Pet information is listed below each room description.

We had a wonderful Easter weekend in Semiahmoo in 2019 and I am looking forward to returning to the beautiful scenery and remote beaches that Lizzie loved to explore. This relaxing resort is just steps away from the Canadian border. This campground is perfect for hiking and admiring the beautiful coastline of Northern Washington. They are very dog ​​friendly. Take a trip back in time with a stay in one of the vintage trailers in Dayton, Oregon. Located in Willamette Wine Country, the trailer comes with pour-over coffee. Luxury bedding and plush bathrobes are dog-friendly in Shasta trailers, details here.

Anacortes is one of my favorite city trips. This charming central beach town is a 1.5-hour drive north of Seattle. Full of charming shops, delicious cafes, and ocean views (Watermark Book Co. is one of my favorite Washington bookstores!) I love unique vacations and Rolling Huts in Winthrop certainly delivers. Tiny House It was designed by Seattle-based Olson Kundig Architects as a new alternative to camping. Well, it’s not technically available yet. However, we have signed up for notifications to receive reservations for this awesome camper trailer when it becomes available in Olympic National Park for the second time. It provides comfort and convenience beyond the usual camping. At the same time, it provides a peaceful and sustainable approach to nature. I fell in love with the stunning new Water’s Edge Suites at this historic hotel on Orcas Island, with private balconies overlooking the bay. I can already see myself curled up in a book. I think the only thing that could draw me in is the amazing menu at the hotel’s New Leaf Cafe. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in some rooms, suites and studios. See here for more information.

If you follow us on Instagram, you know we’re quick to head to Seabrook every chance we get. This perfect beach town on Washington’s beautiful Pacific coast was everything I was looking for in a vacation. It’s a nice town with nice shops and restaurants. There are many places you can rent. And on the pristine sandy beach, dogs are welcome at many rentals.

With beautiful views of Lake Washington, The Woodmark offers a delightful retreat. It’s just a short drive from downtown Seattle. Explore downtown Kirkland’s shops and restaurants, swim or relax at the spa. Book the Woof, Wag and Worry Less package here for your dog’s bowl, bed and special treats.

If you’ve never heard of Tentrr, you’re missing out. We stayed with them twice. (In Vermont and during a trip to Maine that we blogged about here) And every trip was great. Initially, they built luxury safari tents on exclusive private land, such as a beautiful fruit farm near Meade, Washington. You can choose to pay a little extra to have a cobbler deliver for you. Of course, Idaho is a bit far from Seattle. But we were willing to travel any distance to get to this airy and scenic place. Plus, little details like the indoor sauna and the antique coffee grinder really melted my heart. Even with the pet-friendly stairwell entrance, you may need to evaluate whether this will be an enjoyable vacation for you.
