Dog Friendly Vacations In Colorado – I was sitting on the gondola from Breckenridge Station to Peak 8 when my two dogs, an English cat named Daisy and a Pomeranian-Chihuahua named Scout, looked out the side window at the Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve. They shook like a gondola before giving me the same look. After all, many dogs come by car and some fly, but few ride the gondola to the most famous places in the United States.
I found these unexpected types of dogs everywhere in Breckenridge, Colorado, when I visited in August. In the warmer months, the crowds of people with skateboards and snowboards are replaced by mountain bikers, runners and hikers hitting the town and trails with their dogs. In Breckenridge, it’s possible to spend an entire week walking around without leaving your pup.

One, almost every outdoor recreation area is dog-friendly (things get a little tougher in the colder months, but summer is the best time to visit Breckenridge). Cucumber Gulch, a wildlife preserve, is free of frogs, beavers and moose. Besides, dogs are welcome in most places. Many restaurants have large outdoor areas, and some have dog menus. Many pubs and bars also have dog-friendly patios, and some allow four-legged friends on the premises.

Over the weekend, Daisy, Scout, and my partner Heather joined me on a trip around Breckenridge to find the best things to do in town (well, at least the things that keep my 12-year-old English bulldog. Me). And that trick was in Daisy and Scout’s gondola? On the way after lunch, they both jumped up and sat on chairs 10 minutes apart like a fair weather mountain dog.
Tiger Dredge Lakes: Like the former mining town of Breckenridge, filled with places historically drawn by dredge boats. Mining was the most efficient way to get gold out of the ground, but it was also an incredibly environmentally destructive method that drained the water table out of the ground, extracted the gold, and dumped all the waste. What remained was certainly not enough to see the gold of Breckenridge in the mid-1800s. But today many places have been renovated, decorated, and renovated in many ways. Tiger Dredge Pond is one of them, and it’s just a short and easy walk away. Wildflowers make this path along the river, and people crawl what can be seen on the shore. Broken Compass Brewery: The vibe of this street taproom is reflected in the slogan: “Drink beer, house dogs.” All canine companions are welcome outside, so you can come in for a great day or chill late into the night while sipping a beer. The first place, wherever the beer is made, is the only city in the north, and it’s also dog friendly.
