Dog Friendly Vacations In Maine – I recently vacationed in Kennebunk, Maine, with my mom, sister Alice, and Alice’s dogs, Frannie and Darla. I know everyone has their own idea of the perfect vacation and mine always includes a beach with no people, hopefully a few dogs.

Although none of Alice’s dogs like to swim, they seem very happy as they enjoy the sights, sounds and smells. At the end of our trip, they were very thirsty and ready for dinner!

In addition to going to the beach, we visited the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge, which was absolutely beautiful. It starts with a bushwalk, but there are good views of the moorland.

Like most tourist towns, the Kennebunk area is full of cute shops. We were so excited to see the Scalawags! This is one of the most beautiful shops I have ever seen. (Also pet friendly.)

Many restaurants in town offer dog-friendly patios, but we mostly ate there. Since we had a nice rental house, we happily left the girls there. In town, we love Ben & Jerry’s Dairy Free Ice Cream. Of course, we gave Darla and Frannie some treats too!
