The US population is based on data found in the top 200 cities in the United States from Population 2023 by World Population Review (accessed January 2023).
Canada’s population is based on data found in Canadian Population and Dog Parks, accessed in January 2023.

The 150 Most Dog-friendly U.s. Cities
Looking at the 20 most expensive cities in the UK, we scored each by the percentage of hotels, restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs that allow dogs. We combined and averaged each metric to give an overall dog-friendly business score out of 100 for each city.
Brighton and Hove has more friendly catering businesses than anywhere else in the UK. 4% of hotels in the area allow dogs, while 4.3% of cafes do too, and you can feed your dog if it’s better. When it comes to bars, 7.7% are happy for your dog to get some air, but restaurants take the real crown – 33.6% will let you and your dog enjoy it together.Â
Edinburgh also loves dogs. 16.3% of hotels allow dogs to stay overnight, with Sheffield the lowest at 14.1%. One thing the Steel City loves is dogs and bars: 11.9% of its venues allow dogs to drink while enjoying a pint.Â
London has the best hospitality for dogs, but only ranks 17th overall, while Wakefield is proud home to the friendliest pub – 12.5% ​​overall.

Using the same metric for dogs, we also looked at the world’s most expensive cities to see how they compare.Â
Hungary’s capital, Budapest, is more business-friendly than any other city. It offers visitors 28.3% dog-friendly hotels and 6.1% bars, 6.3% cafes and 4.7% restaurants.Â
Mexico City is the second best boot option, with 22.6% of the city’s hotels being dog-friendly and 5.6% of its bars being dog-friendly.Â
The first three are rounded off by Brussels. Not only is the city beautiful for humans to explore, but it’s also great to see through a dog’s eye. 32.3 percent of hotels allow dogs, while 7.8 percent of bars allow your dog inside.Â
