Great Dog Vacations – Something about January makes me want to sit down with my calendar and plan a group trip for next year. It’s so cold and dark outside, wandering around with a laptop and planning some trips will be very rewarding.

Although we’ve taken a break from our extensive world travel during the pandemic, we’ve enjoyed getting to know the Seattle area again and all of its wonderful (and dog!) weekends. After a decade of living in New York and Chicago, it’s so fun to come back and rediscover all the great places to travel and discover all the new hot spots, boutique hotels, and unique Airbnbs that have popped up here. And most importantly, I loved seeing so many of them embracing dog-friendly options for their accommodation. I’m so glad we can take Dave and Lizzie on our vacation.

I’m dying to plan a trip to this beautiful resort and convention center near Paraskevi Harbor that has lots of “dog friendly” cabins. How amazing is this picture? Plus, we love the amazing tours and views from San Juan Island. Information about the dogs is listed here under each house description.

Bring your best friend on a wine spree at one of our favorite local pubs. We have been taking weekend trips to Sagecliff since 2015 and have never been disappointed. Hiking, wine drinking, and views of the Columbia Valley make this a dream getaway. Details of their policy here.

Captain Whidbey is at the top of my “bucket list” for 2022. With recent features in publications like Vogue, this beautifully restored mansion is all over my Instagram feed and I’m dying for it. . Walla Walla is one of the largest wine regions in the country with over 120 wineries, so I couldn’t think of a better place to spend a few days. I’ve been bookmarking this downtown hotel for a while because it looks like the perfect snow or wine weekend. Or both! A limited number of pet-friendly rooms are available upon request. We’ve posted before about how much we love Getaway Cabins and take a look at the newest Skagit Valley location. It’s a great way to escape to nature when it’s hot and dry. What is so amazing about this bedroom window? Dogs are allowed for a fee — details here.

Honestly, Coho Oceanfront stole my heart with these oceanfront fire pits. Although this Oregon Coast resort is a short drive from Seattle, its contemporary beauty and views of the Pacific Ocean make the drive well worth it. Dogs under 25 kg are welcome in some rooms—specific information here.

My New Year’s resolution is to stay early at the Dream Lodge in St. Louis. Edward—it’s easy because it’s only a half-hour drive outside of the city. This historic historic campus has been renovated into a luxurious and beautiful building located on 326 acres with direct access to Lake Washington. We spent a wonderful week at The Lodges on Vashon in January 2020 — and read about it here — and the memories kept me going through the first few months of closing. These designer 570-square-foot units offer amenities like private courtyards, fireplaces, and plunge pools. Plus, it’s the perfect place to explore Vashon Island’s beaches and hikes. Where Are The Best Dog Friendly Beaches In South Carolina?

For a long time I dreamed of living in one of these popular A-frames and decided to make it happen this year. Tye River Cabin Co. offers three spectacular A-frame cabins located in the heart of the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, all three pet-friendly for a fee. A word to the wise – a caveat that’s hard because every one of their Insta posts gets thousands of likes. Animal information can be found under each house’s information.

We spent Easter weekend in Semiahmoo in 2019 and I was looking forward to returning to the beautiful scenery and remote beach that Lizzie loved to explore. Just steps from the Canadian border, this laid-back resort is the perfect place for great hiking and the most beautiful coastal views in Northern Washington. They are very dog ​​friendly and pooches are welcome with their own bowls, beds and (at least on our visit) some treats. Dog talking here.

Step back in time and stay at one of these vintage hotels in Dayton, Oregon. The best part? The Willamette is in wine country. The buses have instant coffee, fine linens and bathrobes. Pets are allowed at Shasta Trailer and they write more about it here.

Anacortes is one of my favorite trips out of town. Drive an hour and a half north of Seattle to this charming beach town with quaint shops, delicious coffee, and coastal views. (Watermark Book Co. is one of my favorite bookstores in Washington!) And we love the city’s most famous hotel, The Majestic, for its cozy rooms and rooftop terrace. Their baby policy is here.

Exploring Annapolis’ Best Dog-friendly Walking Spots

I love a unique adventure and Winthrop’s Rolling Huts certainly delivers. These tiny houses were designed by Seattle-based Olson Kundig Architects as a new approach to campus. Go hiking or just relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain view. Their Hotels.com listing has a pet policy in the “Rates and Policies” section.

This luxury property on Hood Canal has been pet-friendly since 1913, and we think it’s filled with Fido-friendly items. Don’t forget to rent a car, hike the trails, or just enjoy the view. Advertise dogs here.

Well, that’s not available yet, but we’ve signed up for alerts to get reservations for the second of these beautiful boats to hit Olympic National Park. They offer creature comforts beyond typical camping while providing a secluded and sustainable way to access nature. I love the brand new Water’s Edge Suites at this Orcas Island villa, which offer private balconies overlooking the bay. I can see myself wandering around there with a book. I think the only thing that draws me in is the incredible menu at the New Leaf Cafe location. Dogs are fine in bedrooms, bathrooms and studios – details here.

If you follow us on Instagram, you know we go to Seabrook every chance we get. This charming beach town on Washington’s Great Lakes is everything I look for in a vacation—a great town with great shops and restaurants, tons of rental options, and sandy sand. Pets are welcome in many rentals.

If you haven’t heard of Tentrr, you’re missing out. We have stayed with them twice (in Vermont and on the Maine trip we posted here) and each visit has been amazing. Basically, they set up luxury safari tents on private pieces of land like this beautiful fruit farm near Mead, Washington. You can choose to pay a little extra to have one of the fruit pies delivered to your bar or some of their farm fresh produce for a pure taste. More Tentrr rules here.

Granted, Idaho is a short distance from Seattle, but we can drive long distances to enjoy this magnificent view. Besides the little touches like the sauna and the old coffee maker, my heart melted. Pets are allowed, even from the stairwell entrance, so you can decide if this is a fun vacation for you
