Agnes Keith House was the seat of the British colonial government, known as ‘Newlands’, and was the home of Henry George Keith, his wife Agnes and his son George. Henry Keith was Deputy Conservator of Forests to the Governor of North Borneo. However, with the beautiful renovation of the original building (which was destroyed during World War II), Mrs. Keith brought fame and recognition to the property.

Located 11 kilometers from Sandakan City, Sandakan Memorial Park is the site of a World War II prison camp.
